Distribution: It is widely found in Kazakhstan, as in addition to the plains, it also inhabits mountainous regions, rising to 3000 m above sea level in the Tien Shan. The way of life is very similar to that of a peganka. They arrive early, around the same time as mallards, during the first thaws on the lakes. They fly in separate pairs, which are apparently permanent, or in small groups. In September, ogars fly to spend the winter - relatively close - to Central Asia, the southern Caspian Sea, Turkey, the Persian Gulf, and sometimes further to Africa and India. Sexual maturity occurs in the second year of life.
