Population: Common species. There are no exact data on the number of tree frogs in Kazakhstan. The global number is estimated to be between 570,000 and 3.7million individuals. The European population is about 60-86 thousand pairs.
Status: Non-endangered species of economic value other thanhunting.
Habitat: It inhabits the reservoirs of the southern half of Kazakhstan north to the northeastern coast of the Caspian Sea, the lower reaches of the Urals, thevillage of Raygorodok in the Trans-Urals, the lower reaches of Turgai, Kurgaldzhino (not observed in recent years) and the Alakol basin. In 1985, nesting was noted in the Zaisan basin in the delta of the Black Irtysh. It is commonly seen in flight in most areas, except in dry deserts and highlands, and it is found annually in the foothills of the Western Tien Shan.
