A unique project called “Wildlife of Kazakhstan” has been launched at the Karaganda Zoo, the purpose of which is to capture the beauty and diversity of our country's wildlife.

Karaganda State Zoological Park is a favorite vacation spot for Karaganda residents and visitors to the city. This large zoological, scientific and educational center is a specially protected natural area of local importance. Karaganda Zoo is one of the oldest zoological parks in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The park's favorable climatic conditions make it possible to keep a variety of animals, from those that are widespread in Kazakhstan to exotic species.

The photo shoot at the Karaganda Zoo was carried out taking into account all norms and rules so as not to disturb the animals. For this purpose, special cameras with long-focus lenses were used to take high-quality pictures from a distance. This is especially important when shooting rare or sensitive species that may react negatively to human presence.

During the shooting process, National Geographic Qazaqstan photographers collaborated with zoo staff who helped create the necessary conditions for photo shoots. For example, they feed animals at specific times so that photographers can capture the animals' natural behavior. In addition, the zoo provided an opportunity to shoot at non-standard hours to minimize the impact of visitors.
