Population: There is no specific information about the number of booted eagles in Kazakhstan. The global population is stable and is estimated at between 150 thousand and 195 thousand mature individuals.

Status: A rare, little-studied, and endangered species(Category III).

Habitat: In Kazakhstan, it lives in the mountain forests of the south and south-east of therepublic, as well as in tugai in the floodplains of the Syrdarya, Ili, Chilik,Charyn, Karatal rivers. In the twentieth century it appeared onbreeding grounds in the southwestern Altai, Zaisan basin, Manrak and Tarbagatai. It winters in India and Africa. Inthe1970s, nesting was witnessed in the Karkaraly Mountains, in the 1980s and 1990s appeared in southwestern Altai, Zaisan basin, Manrak and Tarbagatai. Winters in India and Africa.
